Who is responsible
This site, davidzagury.ca, is run by David Zagury, an independent consultant based in Montreal, Quebec. I am also the person in charge of protecting personal information. For any privacy question or request, email me at david@davidzagury.ca.
What I collect, and why
I only collect what you choose to send me, plus the minimum technical data needed to run the site. Here is what each part of the site does:
- Contact form
- Your name, email and message. They are emailed to me so I can reply.
- AI Native 90 application
- Your name, work email, company, website, role, team size, the teams taking part, the tools you use, and anything optional you add. If you arrived from an ad or a link with campaign tags (for example utm_source), those tags are included so I know which campaign brought you. The application is emailed to me. It is not stored in a database on this site.
- Ask David
- Your email and your question. They are emailed to me, and you get a confirmation email.
- Newsletter
- If you subscribe to The AI Enablement Brief, your email is passed to Substack, which runs the newsletter. Substack’s own privacy policy applies from there.
- Tool and roundup sign-ups
- Your email, and for some tools your result or score. They are emailed to me, and for the Growth & AI Roundup your email is added to a mailing list so I can send it to you.
- Chat assistant and AI tools
- What you type into the chat, or the website address you submit to a tool, is sent to an AI provider to generate the answer. I don’t keep these conversations or ask for personal information in them. Please don’t enter anything sensitive.
- Booking a call
- Calls are booked through Calendly, which collects the details you enter there.
I use this information to reply to you, review applications, deliver what you signed up for, and run my consulting business. I don’t sell it, and I don’t use it to make automated decisions about you. I review every application myself.
Technical data and cookies
Vercel Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without following you across other sites. Your IP address is used briefly to block spam and abuse on the forms and tools, and isn’t stored by this site. The hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security.
I also use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from, for example which campaign led to an application. It only sets its cookies (named _ga) if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline or don’t choose, it sets no cookies and Google receives only basic, cookieless signals, such as that a page was viewed. IP addresses are not stored in Google Analytics. Your choice is saved on your device, and you can change it at any time: .
I run ads on Facebook and Instagram, and use the Meta Pixel to measure them: for example, whether someone who clicked an ad later submitted an application. The pixel doesn’t load at all unless you click Accept. When it does, Meta sets cookies (named _fbp and _fbc) and receives which pages you visit on this site and whether you applied. It never receives what you type into a form. Meta may combine this with what it knows about your Facebook or Instagram account to measure and improve ads, under its own privacy policy.
The same banner and the same choice cover both Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. If I add another ad platform, for example LinkedIn, it will follow your choice too, and I’ll update this page first.
Emails from me
I only send marketing emails if you’ve agreed to receive them, for example by subscribing or ticking the optional box on a form. Every one of them has an unsubscribe link. Replies about something you asked for, like an application, aren’t marketing.
Who it’s shared with
I use a small number of service providers to run the site. They process information on my behalf, and only for these purposes:
- Vercel hosts the site and provides privacy-friendly, cookieless page analytics
- Google Analytics measures how the site is used, with cookies only if you accept them
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measures how my ads perform, only if you accept cookies
- Resend sends the emails from the forms above
- Google Workspace my email inbox, where messages and applications arrive
- Anthropic the AI model behind the chat assistant and some tools
- Microlink renders website screenshots and page data for some tools
- Substack runs the newsletter
- Calendly books calls
- YouTube plays videos, only after you press play (privacy-enhanced mode)
Some of these providers store information outside Quebec and Canada, mainly in the United States, where it is subject to local law. I choose providers with reasonable security practices and share only what each one needs.
How long I keep it
I keep messages and applications for as long as I need them to reply and to work with you, and for up to two years after our last contact. After that I delete them, unless the law requires me to keep something longer, for example invoices for tax purposes. Newsletter and mailing-list subscriptions last until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under Quebec and Canadian privacy law, you can:
- Ask what personal information I hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Ask me to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- Withdraw your consent, for example to marketing emails, at any time.
- Ask me to delete your information, or to stop sharing it.
- Ask for the information you gave me in a structured, commonly used format.
Email david@davidzagury.ca and I’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections, limited access, and keeping as little as possible. If an incident ever creates a risk of serious harm, I’ll notify the people affected and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
This site is meant for professionals. I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 14.
Changes
When the site changes in a way that affects your information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top. Questions are always welcome, through the address above or the contact page.
